Columbia titanium jacket – the not so obvious titanium entry on the apparel market.
Columbia titanium jacket is one of the products distributed by Columbia Sportswear Company, a global leader in the design, sourcing, marketing and distribution of active outdoor apparel, footwear and related accessories and equipment. They were founded in 1938 and they have earned an international reputation for innovation, quality, performance, durability, functionality, dependability and value, at least this is what they claim. This is probably why they also chose to use titanium as a marketing vehicle for the premier line of their products.
The company does not claim that their products actually contain the titanium metal as
PHI-TEN
does. The Columbia titanium jacket is really made out from a quilted polyester shell stuffed with lots and lots of goose feathers. That doesn’t seem to make their products less wanted by the market.
It is possible, though, such as is in the case of
titanium golf balls
that the polyester component of the jacket may indeed contain some molecules of titanium, as there are some organic chemical components called titanate that are used in the plastic industry.
Columbia titanium products benefit for thousands of reviews available on the net these days. However most of these consist of pointless repeated marketing phrases taken from the company promoting campaigns “…state of the art garment designed for high performance outdoor activities”. Sounds familiar?
A good, unbiased and extensive review, made by someone who actually wore the jacket was made by
Ryan Lane Christensen
and you may find it helpful if you’re looking to purchase one for yourself.
I’m a skier myself and I’m considering buying a Columbia jacket for personal use, but I didn’t have the chance yet. When I do, you’ll be the first to know about it.
